Removing Heavy Metals

Harmful toxic chemical exposure is everywhere.

Harmful toxic chemical exposure is everywhere—in our food, in our water, even in the air we breathe.  You might inhale fumes from fuel when filling your gas tank.  You might ingest second-hand cigarette or cigar smoke simply walking down the street.  Even when doing something good for yourself—like choose grilled fish over that cheeseburger—you may be ingesting mercury. Our bodies are designed to purge toxins from our bodies, but in today’s world, many people suffer from toxin overload.  When these toxins accumulate in the body, the result can be downright deadly, triggering dangerous conditions like heart disease, thyroid issues, neurological disorders, birth defects and infertility.  Equally devastating are secondary issues that may not be so obviously a result of heavy metal in the body—things like brain fog, achy  joints, low energy, low libido, lack of motivation and focus, and even depression.  Heavy metal toxicity can have a major effect on our everyday lives.

So, how do you purge these metals from your body and improve your health?  There are lots of ways to take control.

First, assess your daily environment.  Is your water clean?  Do you live in an older home with lead based paint?  Is there mold in your home or work place?  Are you exposed to harsh chemicals on the job?  Look at every aspect of your life and fix the most obvious issues right away. Do some lab testing to determine your exposure. Drink filtered water.  Remove old carpet from your home. Have your home tested for lead based paint.  If you have metal dental fillings in your teeth, have them replaced immediately.

Watch what you eat and drink.  Stop consuming toxins, including alcohol and tobacco.  According to the National Institute for Health, both are extremely harmful.  Eat organic foods whenever possible, and if you can, add raw fruits and veggies daily.  Beware of oats and grains!  Oats and grains are often stored in giant barrels that are not sealed, so moisture gets in and molds grow quickly. Also avoid artificial sweeteners, sugars, and processed foods that are high in saturated fats. Drink lots of water—just plain, filtered water.  You can add lemon or orange slices for flavor, but plain, clean water is your best option to wash out those toxins, so do your best to drink as much water as possible.

Support your organs with supplements.  Your liver, kidneys, lungs, colon, lymph and skin do their very best to eliminate excess waste from your body, but like the rest of us, they could use some help. Taking supplements daily can dramatically improve your body’s ability to detoxify, stave off infection, improve energy, clear brain fog, reduce inflammation and improve your health.  A great supplement to consider is Irish Sea Moss.  Often called a “superfood,” Irish Sea Moss is chock full of nutrient-rich fiber, helping to enhance good bacteria and maintain and improve bowel function O(colon support).  It’s anti-inflammatory properties reduce the risk of disease (lymphatic support).  It’s also a diuretic, so it assists your liver and kidneys by helping to flush bacteria from your system (liver and kidney support).

Another fantastic detoxifying supplement is Chlorella Research shows that Chlorella, an algae rich in vitamins and nutrients, is effective at helping to flush heavy metals and harmful contaminants from the body. One contaminant is dioxin, a substance that compromises immunity and can seriously harm the body’s nervous system. Research shows that Chlorella can help clear dioxin from the body. Studies also show that Chlorella reduces oxidative stress (which occurs when free radicals and antioxidants are out of balance in your body). When there are more free radicals present than can be kept in balance by antioxidants, the free radicals can start doing damage to fatty tissue, DNA, and proteins in your body. Proteins, lipids, and DNA make up a large part of your body, so that damage can lead to a vast number of diseases, like diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, neurodegenerative diseases and even cancer. If you smoke, or you are regularly exposed to second hand smoke, start taking Chlorella right away to help your lungs repair the damage. Chlorella is a very effective tool in removing toxins that can compromise your health and wellness.
